Grand Haven Christian COVID-19 Update
| Dear Parents, In accordance with Governor Whitmer’s mandate to close all public, private, and bordering schools, Grand Haven Christian, PK-8, will be closed as of next Monday, March 16. Surround Care will also be closed on Monday as we continue to collect information from the state and make decisions regarding the viability of childcare and establish protocols to ensure the safety of all our staff and students. We will provide an update on Monday morning. I understand the strain and difficulty this places on many of you. At this point, it is our hope to return to classes on Monday, April 13, following spring break. All extracurricular activities and school-related events are on hold until further notice. School administration and staff have already begun making initial plans due to other events and closings in our state, nation, and the world. The staff at GHC is an amazing group of men and women devoted to the spiritual and academic education of your student(s). On Monday and Tuesday, our teachers will be diligently preparing to begin delivering content and learning experiences that are both authentic and meet grade level standards. You can expect further communication from both myself and your student’s homeroom teacher early next week. We will begin distance learning on Wednesday, March 18. Your prayers and words of encouragement and support over the past week are greatly appreciated. Our God is at work. This is yet another reminder of the pain and brokenness found in the world in which we live.
