|As we enter the ninth week of instruction, we are extremely thankful to God for his continual guidance and provision for the school. This effort has been the work of many hands, including our phenomenal staff, our exceptional students, and of course, the amazing parent and community partnerships we have with all of you.|
I am writing because we need your help! As you may be aware, cases in our area continue to rise. By and large, this increase has not come from within the schools, but more so from evening and weekend activities. I completely understand the fatigue of the situation, but respectfully ask that you use caution in the days and weeks ahead, especially as we enter the holiday season and gather with family and friends. We understand and are thankful that many families will have the opportunity to travel and be involved in extracurricular activities outside of school. This is simply a request that you remain vigilant and take appropriate measures to ensure your family’s safety as well as our school community.
We are resolute in our commitment and desire to provide excellent, Christ-centered, in-person instruction. This is the best method of learning and teaching. Each family at GHC has played a huge role in making it a great start to the school year, this cannot be overemphasized. As we move forward, please continue to monitor for symptoms at home, emphasize proper hygiene with your kids, and join me in praying that God will continue to watch over and protect our school community.

Grand Haven Christian School’s mission to educate minds and shape hearts for service to God in His world remains stronger than ever during these challenging times.
Over the last two months, our administrator, school board members, staff, and parents of our Back2School Taskforce have been hard at work preparing our reopening plan. We have used parent survey responses to inform our plans and reviewed Governor Whitmer’s Return to School Roadmap, announced on June 30, to make sure our plan aligns with her executive order. In addition, we have developed and continue to refine our plan, while staying in close contact with local, state, and federal health officials to make sure our plans adhere to all required guidelines and protocols.
